Qomply’s roundtable event brings together Sophia Fulugunya, formally from the FCA and now with Bovill Regulatory Consultancy, and Michelle Zak, Co-Founder of Qomply, for an industry discussion on MiFID transaction reporting and the issues that continue to challenge firms.

Michelle Zak, from Qomply, hosts Sophia Fulugunya, formerly from the FCA’s Markets Reporting Team (MRT), at Qomply’s breakfast roundtable at the beautiful grade-II listed One Moorgate Place.

Sophia spent the last 6 years at the UK FCA before joining Bovill Regulatory Consultant. Her latest role at the regulator was within the Markets Reporting Team, specialising in MiFID II Transaction Reporting and Instrument Reference Data regimes.

Sophia will provide her expertise on transaction reporting models as well as valuable insight into the regulator’s expectations.

Michelle will not only moderate the session but also add context to some of the issues that continue to challenge firms. She will share her insights gained from overseeing a technology company that checks the accuracy of billions of transactions a year.

This exclusive Chatham House roundtable will bring together industry practitioners from across the financial services sector and promises to be an interactive and engaging session.

Sophia recently joined Bovill as an associate having spent the last 6 years at the UK FCA. Her latest role at the regulator was within the Markets Reporting Team, specialising in MiFID II Transaction Reporting and Instrument Reference Data regimes. In this role she reviewed over 400 errors and omissions notifications from both buy side and sell side institutions. She led on multiple in-depth analyses focused on data accuracy of transaction reports received by the FCA. She also assisted in drafting Market Watch articles providing insights to industry.

Sophia will provide her expertise on transaction reporting models as well as valuable insight into the regulator’s expectations.

Before joining Qomply, Michelle was Chief Operating Officer at Kyte Broking/Market Securities, a global, mid-size financial firm where Michelle drove the MiFID II implementation at the firm. Over the course of her career, Michelle held various senior leadership positions within investment banking. Having degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Science, Michelle spent several years implementing quantitative trading strategies for the investment banking divisions of BNP Paribas and UBS.
